THE 2009 TOURNAMENT:
9 aspiring winners were randomly divided into teams of three.
Weather good , track fast.
Fathers Day here today and TD Rick B hopes the ladies from the travelling
contingent of Smergs didn't miss this VIP day!!
The day was chosen when an even number turned up in order to give more equal competition in true SMERGS spirit!

The premier event on the SMERGS calendar
TENTH ANNUAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
(hereinafter referred to as ‘The
Championship’) for the
QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY REPUBLICAN
TROPHY (the ‘BEIGE JACKET’)
ROYAL NORTHBRIDGE G.C. – Monday 8th June 2009
Order of Play
The Championship shall be played over 18 holes. The first tee will be available from 6.40 am. All competitors should be on the first tee for the ‘Call to Order’ by 6.30 am.
Groups shall be determined using the traditional SMERGS method.
Players shall be required to contribute 3 new individually-boxed golf balls each (balls to match the boxes, please; Rockets acceptable) by way of entry fee.
Events:
Club Champion Winner: Net stroke score for 18 holes (Champion’s Beige Jacket plus x balls plus trophy)
Front 9 Net stroke score (excluding winners of events 1 and 3)
Back 9 Net stroke score (excluding winners of events 1 and 2)
NTP Hole # 3 and # 15
Longest drive Hole # 14
Teams Based on average net score
In the event of a tie, the winner shall be determined by countback based on the relative aggregates of groups of 3 holes.
